SaveMyRatings Deprecation
Hello SaveMyRatings Community,

As of 11/25/2009, we are discontinuing registration through SaveMyRatings.com and all new users should register for a LikeMinds.com account.   Existing SaveMyRatings accounts will automatically be converted into a LikeMinds account and be able to login here with your same username and password.  LikeMinds will have the same great data portability functionality that you've come to enjoy on SaveMyRatings plus some new useful discovery tools for finding what like-minded people rated highly.

Under the LikeMinds name, we will continue to support and extent the SaveMyRatings portability services with new websites, better features, and new ratings types.

Thanks to everyone for your patience and the great feedback on SaveMyRatings.

 Regards,

-  Alan El Sheshai

SaveMyRatings adds support for Music Ratings

New features on SaveMyRatings:

1. MusicSifter iTunes Plug-in

2. Support for music ratings

a. You can load your music rating from iTunes into SaveMyRatings
b. Import your music rating into Amazon from SaveMyRatings
3. Ratings Survey

MusicSifter Plugin

The problem: A number of my friends mentioned that they actually have too many MP3s in their library, and their biggest problem isn’t finding new music online but finding the good music in the MP3s they already have.   So, I figured the easiest way to help them would be to get everyone to share their ratings and then we can re-distribute out the average ratings, and that would help everyone find the good music in their library.

In a nutshell, MusicSifter is an iTunes plug-in that provides an average rating (average of other people who rated the song) and a predicted rating (what we think you will rate the song) for each track in your library.  Predicated ratings aren't enabled yet, but a good number of tracks will have average ratings.

You can demo Music Sifter here

Download the Windows version of MusicSifter here. If you’re using iTunes on a Mac, you can upload your rating here, and I’ll get around to an iTunes plug-in for Mac soon.

The first time you run MusicSifter, it will automatically upload your ratings to SaveMyRatings and from there you can copy them around the web just like the rest of your ratings with the same bookmarklet WebApp.

SaveMyRatings WebApp (a.k.a bookmarklet)

  • We now support importing your music ratings into Amazon with the SaveMyRatings WebApp. And, as always, I’ll add new sites (rhapsody, napster,..etc.) as requested.

Survey

Finally, We're always trying to identify the features that will help you get the most out of your rating and would greatly appreciate it you would take a brief anonymous survey that I’ve put together: Ratings Survey

Thanks!

- Alan

In response to popular demand from our "Which website should we support next?" poll, we have added support for the two most frequently requested sites.  As of today, you can now import & export ratings from RottenTomatoes and export ratings from YahooMovies.

Thanks for participating in our poll and keep giving us your feedback.
